TTouch™
is a way of working with animals that has shown to improve performance,
to encourage healing and recovery from illness or injury, and to affect
permanent changes in personality and behaviour. An additional benefit is
a deeper rapport between humans and animals though increased
understanding and more effective communication.
Simply….The
touches and ground exercises affect the nervous system, interrupting
habitual patterns, and giving animals the opportunity to discover and
experience their own ability to respond to challenging situations in new
and different ways......They learn to think and not just react.
The
TTouch approach
consists of .........
OBSERVATIONS
Using visual and hands on
observations the Practitioner can find areas of tension, variations in
temperature and places where there could be a memory of pain from a past
injury (ever
clipped a toenail too short and tried to go back again later, or was
injured in the past but is still wary of that part of his body? ) or
present discomfort (strain, or arthritis).
BODYWORK
Ttouch's,
lifts , slides and strokes
Touches, which are circular movements of the
fingers and hands all over the animal’s body. There are many different
ttouch's all named after animals, used to help different issues in the
animal. The intent is to activate the function of the cells and awaken
cellular intelligence, a little like "turning on the electric lights of
the body." TTouch is done on the entire body, and each circular TTouch
is complete within itself. Therefore it is not necessary to understand
anatomy to be successful in speeding up the healing of injuries or
ailments, or changing undesirable habits or behaviour.
GROUNDWORK
Leading exercises, which enables
your dog to override old patterns of movement and behaviour without the
use of fear or force. The groundwork improves co-ordination,
confidence, focus, self control, balance and co-operation.
It teaches patience and co-ordination by setting the animal up to
succeed and can help change your animal’s energy from ‘reactive’ energy
to ‘thinking’ energy.
Please note: We receive referrals and work
with many veterinary practices.
Whilst
benefiting many animals suffering from illness, injury and old age,
TTouch is not a replacement for appropriate veterinary care and should
never be used as such. TTouch is very much complimentary to veterinary
care for the health and benefit of your animals. If you suspect your
animal has a medical condition you should contact your vet immediately. |
